Research background   - Relationships between hydrological connectivity, environmental factors, human activities and aquatic habitats in river-floodplain habitats. - Patterns and functionality of aquatic communities (phytoplankton, zooplankton and macroinvertebrates) in Mediterranean environments. - Life-history strategies and habitat use of aquatic invertebrates in relation to environmental constraints. - Hydrological implications for primary productivity in freshwater ecosystems. - Role of floodplain aquatic habitats to the global climate change. - Ecological modelling. Use of advanced multivariate analyses and regression models. - Design and development of ecological restoration activities in river-floodplain habitats. - My main study methods include field surveys, taxa identification, laboratory analysis and data statistical analysis.
