ESF-MedCLIVAR Workshop on “Hydrological, socioeconomic and ecological impacts of the North Atlantic Oscillation in the Mediterranean region”

VENUE

The main lecture hall of the University of Zaragoza, a XIX century historical building, is located in the centre of the city (http://www.unizar.es/paraninfo.html).

------------------------------------------------------------
TRANSPORTATION
The city is connected by motorway with Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Bilbao and Toulouse — all of which are located about 300 kilometres (200 miles) from Zaragoza. The Zaragoza Airport is a small commercial airport but some companies operate from this airport with daily flights from/to Madrid, Paris, Frankfurt, Rome, Milan, London and Brussels (http://www.zaragoza-airport.com/en/index.php).
Zaragoza is also connected to the Spanish High Speed railway (Renfe's AVE), by the Madrid-Barcelona high-speed rail line. Madrid is reachable in 1 hour 15 minutes, and Barcelona in approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. The central station is "Intermodal Zaragoza Delicias Station" where they operate railway lines and buses (http://www.renfe.com/).
There is also a regular service of coaches from Madrid and Barcelona (http://www.alsa.es/portal/site/Alsa/). The coaches connect directly the Barajas airport (Madrid) and the Intermodal Zaragoza Delicias Station.
